Zyprexa is a prescription drug that treats schizophrenia, acute mania and bipolar disorder. It is a psychotropic drug that treats the psychotic disorders of the mind but unlike other drugs for psychotic disorders, Zyprexa is an atypical antipsychotic. Eli Lily, the manufacturer of the drug Zyprexa, has been accused of promoting off-label prescriptions of Zyprexa, many to children, knowing that the FDA would force them to include risk information on the label and that the FDA has not approved the drug for use with children. Risks and side effects of Zyprexa include diabetes, hyperglycemia, pancreatitis, weight gain, tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome. The FDA has stated the Zyprexa should not be used if a patient is a child or has ADD, depression, addictions, treating aggressive behavior, or mood elevation, but it continues to be given to these people.

In legal battles, lawsuits filed against Eli-Lilly, the manufacturer of Zyprexa, consumers sued the company for inadequately warning consumers of

the side effects. Eli-Lilly settled the claims, paying almost $700 million. If you or a loved one has suffered from Zyprexa side effects that could have been prevented had the label carried the appropriate information or the Eli-Lilly manufacturing company hadn’t promoted the off label sales of Zyprexa, you may be entitled to file a lawsuit against Eli-Lilly.

An angel can be your best friend. Angels have been known respond to prayers that contain the phrase “Hey, somebody, anybody up there HELP!!!”
but they come quickest when addressed politely by their Christian names.
Like a friend, as opposed to a servant, an angel also doesnt like to be bossed around. Angels are to be treated like guests who are invited into your heart…like most guests they tend to leave or ignore enviroments that are filled with aggression, anxiety anger and hostility. So before you call on an angel, it is important to meditate, and picture your own heart as a soft, tender and heavenly place … a place youd want to visit if you were a astral being. So before you call on an angel to do you a favour, it is important to meditate and maybe light a candle that is attractive to that particularbeing.
So the first thing you must do, when you call upon an angel, is prepare your heart to recieve its presence. Speak the angels name out loud. Talk to the angel like you would a treasured friend .. not like a withholding parent or an evil fairy that wont grant your wish. Dont demand immediate gratification and dont be so rude as to interrupt if you start to hear a message. If you are silent, respectful, fervent and loving, an angel will always give you the answer you need to solve your problem.
You wouldnt ask a plumber to fix your car, so it is important to know which archangel is best at fixing which kind of problem. Each angel has a job, and exist on astral planes that correspond to different light rays.
Make your request specific, and visualize what you would like if you can, but dont be attached to the outcome. Angels are agents of the Lord and like God, they work in mysterious ways…
Here is a list of the Seven Archangels, their functions and corresponding light rays:
The ARCHANGEL MICHAEL is the ANGEL OF PROTECTION and corresponds to the colour blue. Practically, you can ask him and his legions for protection from any kind of physical danger, accidents and attacks of all kinds including traffic accidents, stalkers, robbers, as well as protection from astral attacks, witchcraft and the evil eye. Spiritually he can help restore your faith in God and free you from fear and self-doubt. He also protects soldiers and the leaders of governent.
The ARCHANGEL JOPHIEL is the ANGEL OF ILLUMINATION and corresponds to the colour yellow. This angel can help free you and loved ones from addictions, improve your memory, help you pass tests and retain information and knowledge. Spiritually he can help you connect with your higher self and show you the way when it comes to make difficult decisions. This is the angel who exposes

secrets and lies and helps fight pollution on the planet.
The ARCHANGEL CHAMUEL is the ANGEL OF LOVE and corresponds to the colour pink. This is the angel of compassion, mercy, forgiveness and undersanding. This angel helps you repair damaged relationships and make new friends. Pray to this angel if you need to find a lost object or find a new job. Chameuls pink ray can also help dissolve feelings of self-condemnation, guilt and low self esteem.
The ARCHANGEL GABRIEL is the ANGEL OF GUIDANCE and corresponds to the colour white. This angel can help you organize and streamline your life, as well as provide you with advice to your education and career. This is also the angel you pray to if you need a item for your home, such as a stove or a fridge. Spiritually, Gabriel helps you find your life purpose and replaces feelings of discouragement with joy and fulfillment.
The ARCHANGEL RAPHAEL is the ANGEL OF HEALING and corresponds to the colour green. Raphael is responsible for the healing of body, mind, soul and spirit and can help put your daily bread on the table. Pray to Rapheal when you are in need of clothing, food or shelter. Raphael can also help your doctor make the right decision and aspiring musicians make beautiful music. Spritually, this angel repairs broken spirits and helps you accept the truth.
The ARCHANGEL URIEL is the ANGEL OF PEACE and corresponds to the colours purple and gold. URIEL resolves all problems in personal, social and professional relationships and helps to create harmony in your life. He is the angel of nurses, doctors, counselors and teachers. He can help you to let go — of bitterness and resentments. He renews hope in hearts that have lost faith. He is also the angel who manifests divine justice in courtrooms.
The ARCHANGEL ZADKIEL is the ANGEL OF JOY and corresponds to the colour violet. This is the angel to pray to if you need work as an actor, writer or performer. He is also the angel of architectss and engineers. Zadkiel is the angel you pray to if the kids are fighting or if your computer wont reboot. Zadkiel stands for freedom, happiness, justice mercy and freedom of the soul.
The authour owes a debt of gratitude towards Elizabeth Clare Prophet whose many books are the inspiration for this column.

Detoxification therapy is the oldest known medical treatment on earth; it is a completely natural and necessary process to get you healthy and feeling your best. If you’ve never done an official detox program, you are long overdue for a cleansing experience that will give you renewed energy, reduced food cravings, an improved metabolism, clear radiant skin, better sleep, and a stronger immune system.

For more information on internal cleansing visit:
http://www.rockwellnutrition.com/product.asp?itemid=791

What is detoxification?
Detoxification is the process of either clearing toxins from the body or neutralizing them. There are several organs involved in cleansing your system: The colon, liver, gallbladder, lungs, kidneys, bladder, blood, and skin. Each one needs to be stimulated to clean out clogged tissues and suffocated cells from the cumulative damage of alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, prescription drugs, sugar, pollution, chemicals and hormones in our food.

Why detox?
The primary cause of disease is the accumulation of waste and toxins, which are not eliminated from our body. Some symptoms of toxicity include headaches, fatigue, skin problems, frequent colds, aching joints, cravings, digestive problems, allergies, and sensitivity to smells or chemicals. Given the right herbs, nourishment and some rest, your body has the power to heal itself and return to a renewed state; functioning more efficiently than before.

Who should detoxify?
Although everyone can benefit from a detox cleanse, those of us who are overweight, have unhealthy diets, take medications, drink alcohol, have health problems, or are exposed to chemicals in the workplace, need it more than others. I personally have a very healthy diet, drink purified water, take supplements, and exercise regularly, but the amazing benefits I get from doing a complete internal cleanse continues to convince me that all of us are suffering from the toxins around us and in our food, no matter how healthy we think we are.

Even with a healthy lifestyle, the body forms mucoid plaque, a rubber-like lining throughout the walls of the intestines filled with toxic waste, which prevents proper absorption of nutrients causing poor digestion, skin problems, sluggish metabolisms, and headaches. During a good cleanse, this mucoid plaque is actually eliminated from the intestines and is quite visible and disgusting to see in the toilet. My clients are sometimes disturbed by this event, but thereafter convinced continue their complete Internal Cleansing Kit each year with some mini detox in between.

What’s the best way to get started?
First, if you have any medical condition, check with your doctor to find out if doing a detox

cleanse is safe for you. There are a few levels of detoxification ranging from beginner to advanced. The beginner can do a simple one or two day fast on fresh vegetable juice and water once a month, supplementing with a Toxin Absorber made of bentonite clay, apple pectin, and psyllium seed which draw out and eliminate toxins from your intestines.

Those ready for an intermediate detox can do a 21 day whole body cleanse with the Internal Cleansing Kit by Blessed Herbs. It contains herbs that detoxify all the body’s organs of elimination and toxic substances. During a longer intermediate cleanse, it’s a good time to clean up your diet, eat plenty of green vegetables, drink good water, breath clean air, and exercise.

An advanced detox program includes a five day liquid fast during which you are resting from work and exercise. In addition, a complete herbal cleansing program or kit should be followed for 21 days to thoroughly scrub and remove mucoid plaque off the intestinal walls, and detox all organs such as the liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin. Colonics are always a good idea during any level of cleansing. Get a good book on juice fasting and cleansing. Some good ones include “Internal Cleansing” by Linda Berry, D.C. and “Juice Fasting and Detoxification by Steve Meyerowitz.

In conclusion, we all need to detoxify our bodies regularly to eliminate the toxins and congestion causing poor health, low energy, and disease. It’s a time for the body to regain vitality and rejuvenate its cells. Fasting is also a time to re-evaluate our lives, remove negative energy or abuse, eliminate addictions, and be more open to spiritual and emotional energy. The physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of detoxification are proven throughout our history and are invaluable for good health.
Since June 2000, Annika Rockwell has owned and operated www.RockwellNutrition.com, offering top of the line, professional brand nutritional supplements, as well as private consultations to individuals requiring customized eating and supplement plans for their health concerns and goals.

Most People will tell you that they would like to lose a fewpounds. Somehow they would also like to eat healthier. Whatstops people from doing this great desire that they have on theinside of them? We all know that if we cut back on our intake offood, we will lose weight. This is so elementary but somehow westill dont believe it will really happen. So we spend lots ofmoney on diets that promise to really show us how to do it! Butguess what? Every diet that you buy, or read about is going tosay the same thing…cut down your food intake and exercise!

These fancy diets might have a new plan of how to arrange yourintake of food, and it might be more appealing with new shakesand bars to try, but the bottom line is, you will be eatingless, and doing something different than you are already doingwhich has gotten you fat. Paul said in Galatians 5:17…For thedesires of the flesh are opposed to the Holy Spirit, and thedesires of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless humannature): for these are antagonistic to each other (continuallywith standing and in conflict with each other), so that you arenot free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do. Inessence, Paul was saying, if you are controlled by the flesh, you will not follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

The flesh (being the desires of our bodies), is a very powerfulforce. If one has addictions in the area of food, the only wayto be free of those addictions is to ask for Gods help. Manypeople start a new diet will great hope that they will stick tothe decision that they made to follow a diet plan. They maystick to it for a week through sheer will power, but after thatthe flesh comes through strong and says, “Okay, the weeks up,wheres my cookies!?.”

The problem is, that most people are excessively hungry. Theproblem is with the root of their appetite. We were all made topassionately love. That passion has been put inside us by GodHimself. The World has done a good job of marketing everythingit can to appeal to this passion and desire in order to makemoney. Weve been programed to seek after food, other people, and things. We spend our lives

trying to impress people in orderto gain their approval and attention. This is a dead end road.It will never bring satisfaction.

God created us to love passionately. He created us to love Him.What we truly desire to feed, is that hunger inside of us tofind the object of our love and passion. The secret is, thatobject is God. It is not a man or a woman, food, sex, success,or more possessions. This is what has driven man to destructionfrom the beginning of time. When we discover our true hunger, and begin to seek after God will all of our passion and desire, the desire for food becomes less of a stronghold. We must becomecompletely honest with ourselves and God and expose our passionto Him, knowing He completely understands and satisfies allthose who thirst and hunger after Him.

Christians who still struggle with food issues (or otheraddictions) have not sought after God in the most intimate waythey know how to. It would be impossible for their physicalhunger to be so distorted if they were seeking God enough tosatisfy their true hunger. I will also venture to say, thatthose who do seek God in great measure, and still havefood/addiction issues have great passion and need to seek Himeven more. We can use our hunger for food that seems out ofcontrol at times, as a barometer of how much more we need toseek after God. God will fill us. In Psalm 81:10 He said to openour mouths wide and He would fill it. Ask God to invade yourfood. Youll will be able to follow any good, healthy eatingplan with His help. Things will become more clear, and you willbe on the road towards the real desires of your heart, which isGods plan for your life.

Why make a New Years resolution when you can make a OneDecision? If you want to lose weight, pay off your credit card,or get organized, you have a bigger decision to make. By JudithWright Research shows that the average New Years Resolutionfails within three weeks. That means that 21 days after the balldrops, the champagne is gone, and the streamers have all beenswept away, your grand resolution to lose weight/pay off yourdebt/quit smoking is going to turn into a big disappointment. Why do we fail at our New Years Resolutions year after year?Sure, there are a lucky (and determined) few who manage to stickto their goals, but most of us find ourselves wondering whatwent wrong. Many people think they need to set smaller goals, but what Im about to tell you may contradict everything youveheard before. Your New Years Resolutions arent big enough.Your goals arent big enough. What Ive found in working withpeople for over 20 years is not that their goals need to bescaled back, but that they dont want enough. They haventthought about why they want what they want?why they want to loseweight or quit smoking. They havent identified a bigger purposeand meaning within their goals, so they are running on sheerwill power and are, at best, only successful in a few areas.More than just setting goals. Its a revolutionary concept: ifyou identify what you really, truly want from your New YearsResolution, youll find that reaching smaller goals is verydo-able, almost natural. Your resolution has to be more thanjust setting goals for the next year. It has to be a decisionabout what matters to you and what you really want from life. Icall it the One Decision. A One Decision is a very personalchoice about who you are and what you care about. The OneDecision gives you a reason to go through what it takes to notonly achieve your goals, but also to change your life. If Lancecan do it, so can you. Lance Armstrong, seven-time Tour deFrance champion, didnt just set a goal to win the Tour deFrance. He made a bigger commitment about living strong, andthat is what gave him the courage and strength to keep winning.Thats a One Decision. You may be thinking, ” But I dont wantto win the Tour de France! I just want to fit into my jeans!”The power of

the One Decision is that once you make it, you willnot only achieve the goals in front of you, but also you willexpand your vision to encompass much bigger and morefar-reaching goals. Losing weight by loving yourself. Carrie hadtried every diet imaginable–no sugar, no fat, no salt, nowheat, no “white things;” the blood type and body type diets, high fiber diets, liquid diets, and special food diets. Shesbeen on cabbage broth diets, egg diets, celery diets, tunadiets, cottage cheese diets, and even grapefruit diets. In thepast 40 years, Carrie has gained and lost enough pounds to equalher total body weight (and probably yours too!). Needless tosay, simply resolving to lose weight never worked for her. ThenCarrie made her One Decision–she decided to “love herselfbeyond measure as a unique gift of Gods love.” From making thatdecision, she is beginning to treat her body very differently. When she gets hungry, Carrie asks herself, “What would you feedsomeone you really loved?” By default she started getting moreexercise, deciding that shes worth the extra attention it takesto really take care of herself. Carrie has accepted that shewont be thin overnight–but by making this larger commitmentshes already lost over 20 pounds that wont be coming back. This New Years, you have the opportunity to not only achievesome goals, but also change your life for the better. Forever. What will your One Decision be?

If money is considered to be the root of all evil, then what
would we classify as our addictions?

The psychology of the human mind is ultra complex when
compared to any other species on earth, so why does it love
to tangle itself up in a destructive mode? Once more, why
would it seemingly feel right to be in this place in life?

Let’s drill down and put addictions in a separate folder.
Psychological addictions are much more prevalent then
physical ones; however, people can have both. When
someone is psychologically addicted, they are obsessed
with doing, having, and the idea of a specific concept swirls
within.

If one is physically addicted, the actual body craves, but the
mind can easily be trained that it also must “have it” in
order to function properly.

Two main reasons behind the psychology of addictions are
fairly simplistic human emotions that we all have. Self
worth and security are the primary root reasons for our
propensity to become addicted.

Example: An invitation lands inside your mailbox and many
people that you know and don’t know are going to be
there. Feeling unsecure about your abilities, you summon
up the courage to consume three or four drinks to take off
the edge and loosen yourself before the event takes place.

This concept seems to work and now you don’t just do it
for regular functions, you begin to use it as a crutch more
frequently. Your workplace may be the next testing ground
or home.

Another example is when women seek out the same type of
man as a patterned behavior because they feel within
themselves that they simply do not deserve better. This self
worth can manifest itself into many variations of an
addictive personality or patterned behavior.

What would happen if we completely abolished all of our
addictions, whether big or small, serious or not? Would we
be forfeiting a part of our very fiber, the weave that keeps
us together?

Not only can the mind play tricks on itself and make it
believe that it needs something, but it can also become lucid
and understand that it can stand alone without the
assistance of external stimuli to

artificially boost its worth
or security.

Obviously, the latter is where we would all love to be,
however, no one can break obsessive patterns unless they
are understood, acknowledged, and then taken apart
methodically.

This must come from the person within!

Analyzing your own behaviors from dusk to dawn and
understanding that every action and decision has an end
result of good or bad consequences, can prompt the ‘ball to
suddenly move forward.’

If denial skews logic even after acknowledging that
negatives come out of specific actions, then additional
introspection should be indicated or an external intervention
employed.

If you let your security and self worth derive from your
past, then your past will always haunt you. However, if the
past is treated like it should be, as a way of understanding
ourselves better through lessons learned, then your future
can be today and beyond without the crutches.

Many of us carry around demons from the past and hold
them as close to our hearts as anything else. They, in
some way, fulfill what we think we are worth.

The truth is, everyone is literally invaluable, there is no
price that could ever be placed upon you. Living pure,
clean, and free of addictions is extremely attainable,
although, analyzing and understanding yourself first….is the
only way it can be done.

Strive to accomplish that daily, and you are on your way to
a much more loving, happier, and content future then you
could ever imagine.

I have a question for you.

Who are you?

This may be a simply enough question but before you attempt to answer this question let us go on a voyage of personal self discovery which will allow you to find an acceptable answer.

The difference between the “Living” and the “Non Living” is the existence of the spiritual soul that manages the physical body from birth to death. The soul expresses itself through the five senses of the physical body. Without the soul, the physical body cannot express or maintain itself.

The reflection you see when you look into a mirror will be that of your physical body which gradually ages. Your soul is “seen” through your personality. You may look old when you look in a mirror but you could feel and act like a child.

The soul is your mind that is not constrained by time or distance. Within a second your mind can race back to your youth or visit any place your thoughts may pull you towards.

Souls cannot be seen. The understanding of the soul is limited because the soul is spiritual and cannot be explained or understood with the knowledge of the physical laws of sciences.

The soul or mind is similar to the tiny microprocessor of a computer system that obtains information from input devices like the keyboard and processes the information and communicates via its output devices such as the monitor and printer. The microprocessors RAM and Rom memory are similar to the soul’s conscious and sub-conscious memory respectively.

Like the microprocessor, the soul obtains information via the body’s sense organs (input devices) processes them with memory of past experiences in its conscious and sub-conscious mind and communicates with the outside world via one or more of the bodies organs (output devices).

For example, when something “nice” is seen, heard, smelt, tasted or felt the signals (input) are processed as pleasing and positive. This creates the positive response of a smile or laughter. The overall response is one of attraction rather than repulsion and should be repeated rather than avoided.

The soul is a tiny point of energy and functions on three levels that may be broadly categorised as the Mind, Intellect and Impressions.

The function of the mind is to imagine, think and form thoughts based on emotions, desires and sensations. Happiness and sadness are created and experienced by the mind but displayed by the physical organs of your body.
The function of the Intellect is to access the thoughts created in your mind. It has the capacity to reason, memorise, discriminate and make decisions. It is your conscience that discriminates between right and wrong actions.

The Impressions are the memory of actions that become ingrained in the soul. The actions especially when repeated become habits, tendencies, emotions, temperaments and general personality traits.

There is a cyclic pattern in that the minds thoughts are put into action by the intellect to create impressions or memory of past

actions. Repeated actions, especially those of a negative nature, create habits and addictions when your minds thoughts are acted upon without being judged by the intellect.

Smoking, consuming alcohol and indulging in sexual lust are actions that you enter into in search of happiness and fulfilment. The happiness created is just an illusion because ether the senses are temporarily incapacitated or the happiness cannot be sustained. You suffer the negative consequences of addiction and dependency due to the need for increasingly more stimulants in an effort to create decreasing levels of temporary happiness.

When you perform actions without thinking, you, the soul becomes a slave to your senses. Addiction and dependency are not just smoking and consuming alcohol. Laziness is an addiction just as is over-eating. Expectation from others is a dependency. Almost anything that you want or desire rather than need is a form of addiction.

The word “I” is used to refer to the experiences and wishes of the soul with statements such as “I am”, “I love” and “I hope”.

The word “My” is used to refer to the physical body, possessions and activities with statements such as “My hand” “My car” or “My job”

The advantage of knowing “who I am” is to realise and use the powerful spiritual energy that is within your body.

With you intellect now awakened you can focus on your power of judgement to become more selective and choose only those thoughts that will lead you to experience permanent happiness and contentment. Addiction to temporary happiness can now be avoided. Bad habits can be replaced with good habits you can be proud of. You can be more peaceful and deliberate rather than tense and anxious. You come to realise that happiness is a state of mind that it is created by you. Likewise you can avoid unhappiness or the experience of sorrow because you do not need to experience negative feelings.

You can and should be in control over your body’s senses.

With the realisation that you are a peaceful soul you can begin to see others as equals to establish relationships of harmony. You can now avoid personality clashes and discriminations based on sex, colour, language, nationality, religion, culture and physical disabilities.

Most of your activities such as eating, sitting, working and sleeping are all done for the health of your physical body. What we all do is fail to address the need for peace and happiness of the real you, the soul within the body.

So back to the question, who are you?

I can not give you the answer as only you know. I have just set the question to make you think.

Are you going through a tough time in your life? Do you feel like you’re all alone with your problem?

Chances are that there are a lot of other people who are facing a similar difficulty right now, perhaps even other people in your own community. You can find the help and support you need to get through this period, as well as find helpful advice and good friendships by joining a support group made up of other people who are struggling with the same problem that you are.

Whatever your current problem happens to be, whether you are struggling with an addiction, or perhaps someone you love is an addict, or if you are finding life hard because you have just been diagnosed with a serious illness, or if you don’t have many friends to turn to because you are socially isolated, joining a support group is a way to quickly fill your life with kind and caring people who will help you on your journey.

What is a support group? It can be a formal or informal group of people who get together on a regular basis to share certain aspects of their lives with others and to offer each other emotional support.

Sometimes these are also called self help groups.

Perhaps the most famous of the support groups that exist today is Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.). This organization started in about 1935 in Akron, Ohio, when two alcoholics found that talking to each other about their drinking and following a simple program helped keep them both sober.

Since that beginning, the A.A. organization has spread throughout the world and millions of alcoholics have learned to stay sober by helping each other.

The A.A. model has been adopted by people dealing with addiction problems other than alcohol, so today there are support groups that deal with addictions to narcotics, cocaine, food, and many other substances and activities.

In addition, there are support groups that use the A.A. model to help the partners or children of addicts. Being the spouse or child of an alcoholic or addict brings with it certain painful problems that are often best understood by other people who have lived a similar experience.

Support groups that use the A.A. framework are often called “12 Step Groups”. That is because these groups base their founding principles and traditions on the 12 steps which were proposed by the initial founders of the first Alcoholics Anonymous groups.

One of the key principles of the support groups using the A.A. model is the tradition of secrecy. People who attend these meetings use only their first names. They do not publicly advertise their participation in 12 Step groups. Everything said at these meetings is meant to be kept strictly confidential by those who attend.

It is because of this tradition of secrecy that those who attend the meetings can feel free to discuss extremely personal matters.

Not only have 12 Step groups enabled millions of people to overcome their

addictions, reclaim their lives and gain peace of mind, they also foster close friendships and emotional intimacy for many of those who attend.

Not all self help or support groups are fashioned on the 12 Step A.A. model. Many support groups today exist to help people battle specific diseases. For example, there are support groups for people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and many less common illnesses. Some support groups also raise money and awareness to combat specific diseases.

Support groups for people with diseases can provide a lifeline for people who are newly diagnosed with some frightening ailment. They can provide information, help, and hope, suggest new treatments and doctors, and give the kind of emotional support that can only come from other people who truly understand what it means to face this particular problem.

Self help groups also exist for many emotional problems and social situations.

There are support groups for single parents, for widowed seniors, for teenaged mothers, and for parents of twins and triplets. There is even a support group for people who have developed emotional problems after winning the lottery!

You can usually find information about the location and times of support group meetings by checking in a local newspaper or telephone book.

If you decide to try visiting an existing support group, it’s best to go several times before you decide whether or not it’s right for you. Sometimes a group can have an “off” night when things don’t quite work well, and yet other meetings might be much better.

Of course it is often easier to find a support group for an obscure problem if you live in a large city rather than in a small town. But you are not limited by geography as long as you have a computer-nowadays there are many support groups on line.

Using the Internet you can access people who are willing to talk about your problem, at any hour of the day or night, in any corner of the world.

Whatever type of problem you have, it’s quite likely that somewhere in the world there is a group of people who are already trying to deal with the same problem.

And if you can’t find the right kind of support group locally, another option for you is to try start up a support group right where you live. Not only will you be helping yourself, but you will also be helping others, and you’ll probably meet a lot of interesting and friendly people at the same time!

The answer is simple: there is no such thing as the best drug addiction treatment. Depending on the kind of the addiction, your age and social situation different treatments may be chosen for your benefit.

Here are a few most common drug addiction treatments (from www.nida.nih.gov website):
(1) Relapse Prevention – this treatment helps you control your behavior, learn to identify dangerous situations and avoid them. It concentrates on augmenting your learning processes and developing your own defense skills.
(2) Matrix model – strict and personal, with therapist acting as your friend and as your coach at the same time. This drug addiction treatment seems to be intensive and deep. It works as much on your consciousness as on forcing into you a kind of drill which prevents you from using drugs.
(3) Supportive-Expressive Psychotherapy – it works mostly through interpersonal links, creating your sphere of comfort and teaches you to trust in other people support. Good and comfortable, used mostly for cocaine and heroin addicts.
(4) Individualized drug counseling is a drug addiction treatment that concentrates not only on a drug

addiction, but works also on other related subject – employment status, family problems etc. Its a short-term therapy, but when it helps, it helps in a big way.
(5) Motivational Enhancement Therapy – this one concentrates on the addicts will – its aim is to incite the will to fight the addiction. It changes people, but in a good way. It makes them stronger and more focused.
(6) Behavioral Therapy for Adolescents – the treatment is based on assumption that by showing desired behavior and rewarding any steps addicts take toward achieving it, this drug addiction treatment will change patients behavior to drug-free one.
(7) Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) for Adolescents takes a different approach and tries to help addicts by their families. It offers interesting and fruitful approach as many addictions have their roots in dysfunctional families, but it doesnt need only the addicts cooperation, but also the help from the family, which may be sometimes difficult.
Jeff Lakie is the founder of Rehab Resources a website providing information on drug and alcohol rehabilitaiton treatments

A magical maxim is WYTUG. You can remember WYTUG
because it sounds like “Why tug?” So many of us are
tugging at our life, trying to pull it along as if it was
an obstinate, stubborn, headstrong mule. Why do that?
Your life can be like the old children’s song:

“Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream.”

Read on to make your life a merry one full of all that
you have dreamed.

Known For Centuries

WYTUG is an acronym for What You Think Upon Grows.
That what you think upon or focus upon increases is
not a newly discovered fact; many have known it since
at least as early as the writing of the Bible (Phillippians 4:8).

Many more since then have written about this simple and
yet profound principle — Norman Vincent Peale, Napoleon
Hill, Agnes Sanford, Dale Carnegie, Joel Goldsmith, to name
just a few.

Our thoughts are very powerful; they are our mental magic
wands. What we dwell upon becomes our reality. This simple
fact is what makes our thoughts so powerful. If you cast
your attention upon poverty, you will attract poverty into
your life. If you think about illness, you will get sick.

No matter what the situation – health, wealth, peace,
happiness – thinking about the negative side will get you
more of the negative; concentrating on the positive will get
you more of the positive.

Too simple, you say? It may be simple but it is not easy.
Watch your thoughts for a half day. How often do you think
of the good and the positive, and how often of that which
you fear or do not want? Many of us think much more about
the bad things in life and imagine these fears coming to pass.

Not a good move! Fearing a thing invites it to become manifest
in your life. Think miracles instead. Wonderful, enchanting,
golden miracles.

Fear, Fear Everywhere

Why do many of us find our thoughts drawn not to the
wondrous, the marvelous, the triumphant, but to the
pessimistic, the fatalistic, the creepy?

Perhaps it is because we are told so often what to
fear – diseases, interest rates, crime, foods, chemicals,
addictions, politicians, violence, road rage (and all the
other rages du jour). One potential fear after another.

Regardless of what messages we may be hearing out in
the world, we can hone our magic wands, our thoughts, so
they bring us a

good and joyful life. Our thoughts are actual
things and they have a very tangible effect on what we get.
We have the choice to think fear thoughts or fortune thoughts.

The Golden Key To Happiness

What do we do when we are having thoughts about things
we do not want to attract to us? Say we are concerned
about our finances and fearing our lack of money. Fearing
something invites it.

Okay, so what do we do instead? We think about what we
want instead of what we are fearing.

Perhaps we do not know what we want? Surprisingly, this is
a problem with many people. You say to them, “Here is a magic
wand. You can have anything you wish.” They do not know what
to wish for.

Until you know what you desire, here’s a simple alternative
method when you find yourself thinking of things you do
not want. Emmet Fox describes the Golden Key: “Stop thinking
about the difficulty, whatever it is, and think about God
instead.” Fox says that this Golden Key will get you out of
any difficulty.

For those who do not believe in God, think of wisdom, truth,
love, joy – something powerful and good.

Sometimes the thought of things negative are so persistent
you do not seem to be able to use the Golden Key.

Sarah was very upset at a person, too upset to turn to any
lofty thoughts at all. As she filled a glass with water at
the sink, her eyes rested on a spice bottle. She began to
appreciate the red letters that spelled out “Cayenne Pepper.”
By turning to the red of the letters, she was able to lose the
thoughts that had been upsetting her.

If you are overwhelmed with negative thoughts, find
anything positive in your environment, no matter how
seemingly trivial, and use it as your Golden Key.

The Simple Truth

Distill, purify, and refine your thoughts and you
can have that of which you have only dreamed before.

“Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream.”

NOTE: May 31, 2002, is the first annual WYTUG Day.
